Shaking My Head And Cussing

Frenchman Romain Jouan, ranked No. 310, will receive the French Open wildcard given up by John Isner.

Isner, who won the wildcard in the USTA playoffs three weeks ago, was forced to withdraw with mononucleosis.

A reciprocal arrangement between the USTA and the French tennis federation each year gives one American a wildcard into the French Open and one French player a wildcard into the U.S. Open.

With Isner unable to play, the U.S. gave the wildcard back to the French federation.

I'm speechless. U.S. Tennis Association director of player development Patrick McEnroe couldn't find a single American male ranked inside the top 400 to take John Isner's place?

I won't type what I really want to.
