Classic
Reuters
If you managed to sit through those four hours of grueling tennis, you saw the instant classic put on by Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
I was unable to watch some of it because I was preparing the house for bed and breakfast guests, but I did watch both tiebreaks.
The second tiebreak was off the chain.
Djoke prayed that he convert his third match point. (Reuters)
Both held match points, Djoke held three, but Rafa simply wouldn't be denied, coming up with his gutsiest stuff to fight them off.
Balls to the wall, indeed.
The little boy who came onto the court to celebrate with Rafa was too cute.
Between keeping house and watching that match, my back hurts.
I can't imagine Rafa will have anything left for the final, so Roger Federer, who dispatched a listless Juan Martin del Potro in routine straights, should be winning his first title of 2009 tomorrow.
On the women's side, Caroline Wozniack beat Amélie Mauresmo in straights, and the Dane will face Dinara Safina who wasted no time against Patty Schnyder.
