The Fallen

Just noticed that in the Aegon at Eastborne, Ana was unranked and lost to #7 Petrova.

When was the last time she was unranked in a tournament? Fair question.

Latest WTA rankings has her at #13, and when there are only 8 seeds in a tournament, well, I guess that is how it happens.

Talk about how the mighty have fallen.

And speaking of James....

Time to retire and get into the announcer's booth - tennis does not seem to be any fun any more, and the quality of play surely is reflecting it
.

I can't remember the last time AnaI was unranked. But she was never any good on grass anyway, so....

I didn't even bother to highlight the scoreline.

I think Michael commented that the time to retire is not when a player is still making finals. Justine Henin retired when she was the world No. 1, the only top-ranked player in history to do so according to Leif Shiras, and only months after the best year of her entire career.

Just sayin'.
