Juan Martín del Potro was determined to beat Rafael Nadal. For once, he showed some guts and actually did it, causing the biggest upset on the men's side so far.
If he can follow up this first career victory over Rafa and a world No. 1, he may be able to shed his reputation as a gutless quitter.
Is this a one-off, or a new day for the Argentine?
For Rafa's part, I saw disinterest. As though he was already dreaming of the red slippery stuff across the pond.
