The women have yet to complete their first-round matches, thanks to the unseasonable cold and rain, but we've arrived at the most talked about second-round matchup in the draw.

I suspect most of the pressure will be on Elena Dementieva's side of the net. Justine Henin has already received a considerable amount of hype in her comeback and that could weigh on her. And even though a Russian will be her opponent, a Belgian will be on her mind. I'll stick with my preview prediction and give the Divorcee this one in a close decider.

Raise your hand if you're going to stay up/get up to watch it?

Every year John sends me a quick email from Down Under to give us a birdseye view of the action around the ground. From today:

Hello Craig

Thank you for another blog year....

I spent the last 2 days at the tennis, very crowded, it has become the teenagers place to hangout, even the most obscure players are standing room only now. The plans for expansion announced yesterday should help.

On some players I saw... Your girl Serena was not moving well, but she has won finals on one leg. I still don't think Isner has much game. Del Potro's body has filled out well. Nadal seems to have lost all joy, he is getting the crowds sympathy vote now. First time I've seen Lacko, he has real potential to be top 20. Casey has a good draw, and played way better than she has for a few years.

Best half hour was watching Justine practice. Reminded me of why she was my favourite before her personality was revealed. Magnificient strokes, strength, speed.. The King/Cibulkova match was on the next court and it was pitty pat club tennis in comparison.

Some good matchups today, unfortunately I am back at work.
