Roger Federer ends the streak.

Not long ago, one of our readers asked what on earth would motivate a man who had already won all that there is to win.

How about snapping one of the longest winning streaks in the Open Era?

Check.

I don't have much to say about the match. Novak Djokovic didn't move well and wouldn't hit his backhand down the line, the shot that, to my eyes anyway, made him the toughest man on tour to beat for six months. Raja played the biggest points bodaciously, but facing an opposition who refused to hit his money shot when the court was wide open, the former Roland Garros champion seemed to have smelled blood, felt no pressure in the kill. Like a fox in the chicken run. The crowd did its darnedest to incite the slaughter.

Peytonallen told us that winning the first set would be the key to ending the streak. He was right.

I haven't read a single post-match report for I haven't had the time, but I would imagine Raja has already read many, relishing the content of them all.

And why not?
